The mother handed over the girl to her two ex-husbands and gang-raped her overnight

 A housewife (32) was gang-raped in Sakhipur, Tangail.  Police have arrested the housewife's mother and the rapist's ex-husband for collaborating in the rape.

 On Tuesday night, the housewife filed a case with the Sakhipur police station accusing six people, including her, of abduction and rape. The police arrested three people that night.

 The housewife was sent to Tangail General Hospital for a medical examination on Wednesday (May 20) morning.  The arrested are Abdul Quader (55) of Ward 3 of Bari Municipality and Abdur Rahman (39) of Kachua village of Bari Upazila.

 According to the police, the mother took her daughter to Dhumkhali Bailey Bridge in Kirtankhola of the upazila around 8:30 pm on Monday.  There, two young men wearing helmets on a pre-planned motorcycle actually handed the girl over to their mother.  She was later locked in an abandoned shop in the municipal town and raped by five people, including her two ex-husbands Abdul Quader, 55, and Abdur Rahman, 39.  At one point, the housewife fell ill and the rapists left her and fled.

 When he went to a nearby house naked at around 1 am, the people of that house threw clothes at him.  He later rescued his wife and took her home.

 Sakhipur Police Station OC (Investigation) AHM Lutful Kabir Uday, investigating officer of the case, said the mother and her two ex-husbands were arrested for cooperating in the rape on the basis of information provided by the housewife.  Attempts are being made to arrest the other accused.
