Chhatra League leaders cut the paddy of a farmer in Sonagazi during Ramadan


 Leaders and activists of Chhatra League have cut the paddy of the farmers while fasting in Sonagazi of Feni.  On Sunday morning, BCL leaders and activists cut paddy from 6 percent of the land of Mohammad Babul, a farmer of Sampur village in Mangalkandi union of the upazila.

According to organization sources, 40 leaders and activists of Upazila Chhatra League president Abdul Motaleb Chowdhury Robin and acting general secretary Mir Emran took part in the paddy harvest.  Leaders of different levels of upazila and union were present at the time.

 In the end, the paddy was delivered to the farmer's house, they said.

 Abdul Motaleb Chowdhury Robin said that Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and District Awami League General Secretary Nizam Uddin Hazari MP have instructions to stand by all kinds of problems of the people in Corona.  According to that instruction, we went down to harvest paddy on the 6th day.  The organization also said that the program will be carried out keeping in mind the need to provide assistance to the indigent farmers in Corona.

 Leaders and activists of Upazila Chhatra League are cutting ripe paddy of farmers in different unions including char areas of Sonagazi.  Leaders and activists of the BCL, led by Upazila BCL president Abdul Motaleb Robin and acting general secretary Mir Emran, have continued their paddy harvesting activities since Monday.

 On Wednesday morning, they cut the paddy of 60 percent of the land of Abul Kashem, a poor farmer of Darogarhat in Matiganj union of the upazila and delivered it home on their own.

 Farmer Abul Kashem said, "I was worried about taking home the ripe paddy due to the labor crisis in the Corona epidemic."  Moreover, there is a cash crunch.  In the midst of this anxiety and crisis, 50 BCL leaders and activists came to the field in the morning, cut the paddy and delivered it to my house.


 Earlier on Monday, Upazila BCL leaders and activists cut paddy from the 150-acre
field of Sahab Uddin of Chardarbesh Union and Belal Hossain and Abul Hossain of Palgiri village of Matiganj Union.  District BCL president M. was present at the time.  Salahuddin Firoz and General Secretary Jabed Haider George, Chardarbesh Union Parishad Chairman Nurul Islam, General Secretary of Upazila Juba League.
 Similarly, on Tuesday, the BCL leaders and workers cut the paddy of three farmers of Amirabad and Sadar Union of the upazila.


 Upazila Chhatra League president Abdul Motaleb Chowdhury Robin said the yield was good this time but the poor farmers could not harvest the ripe paddy and take it home due to the labor crisis in the Corona epidemic.  Realizing the issue, Chhatra League started paddy harvesting activities under the direction of the Prime Minister.  Chhatra League is by the side of common people in any humanitarian crisis.  Everyone should stand by the farmers in these difficult times.  Upazila Chhatra League's paddy harvesting activities will continue.


 Earlier this morning, in a video conference with the district administrations of several districts in Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "My Chhatra League boys have come forward in the Corona disaster.  They are cooperating with the farmers to cut the paddy.  Made and distributed hand sanitizers with formulas themselves.
